Herbs, spices and seasonings are the flavor we add or need to add to so many meals, and often the missing element to a homemade dish vs. a restaurant meal. Here's a really simple recipe to help you add some fresh herbs to salads, or on top of proteins, or even sprinkled over veggies, keeping the salt and sugar down, but still punching up the flavor of our foods! This gremolata goes well with so many meals!
Macronutrient Balance: 0g Protein / 0g Fat / 1g Carb - this makes 8 servings Ingredients:
2.5 oz fresh parsley - stems removed
1 oz fresh basil leaves
3 garlic cloves
zest of one lemon
Instructions:
In a food processor/blender or by hand, pulse/finely chop herbs and garlic.
Add in the zest of one lemon.
Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
